Re-enactment of the landing of the first Steam powered traction
                   engine to arrive in Tasmania. - 19th July 2015

                              This was also the first self powered vehicle in Tasmania

150 Years ago on the 19th July 1865 the first Steam Powered Traction Engine arrived in Tasmania - It was unloaded and assembled at Bellerive and driven along what is now Clarence Street to be used for work in that area.

Now on the 19th July 2015 a group of enthusiasts will be re-enacting this historic event with 6 fully restored traction engines

The Engines will be transported to the original landing point at Bellerive. They will then leave at around 9:30 am for a 4-5 hour, 20 km tour ending at the Tasmanian Transport Museum in Anfield St Glenorchy.

The tour will commence at Blundstone Arena then follow the route shown on the map below.
